For more information about ECCO Select, visit us at www.eccoselect.com.Position Title: Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS GovCloud)Location Information Washington, D.C.Position Responsibilities:As a Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS GovCloud), you will play a key role in architecting, deploying, and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure supporting critical business applications and services. This position emphasizes developing scalable, cloud-native platforms, container orchestration, infrastructure automation, and compliance-driven cloud solutions in highly regulated environments.Your primary responsibilities will include:Designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available, scalable, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure.Managing and optimizing containerized application deployments using Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.Building, deploying, and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions utilizing Terraform.Developing and supporting automated CI/CD pipelines for cloud infrastructure and application deployment.Working collaboratively with engineering, operations, security, and development teams in an Agile environment to deliver robust cloud-native solutions.Supporting and enabling emerging technologies such as AI/ML platforms and data processing frameworks in the cloud.Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting operational issues, and implementing improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.Automating routine infrastructure management and day-to-day operational tasks to streamline processes.Ensuring all cloud environments meet compliance and governance standards, including adherence to NIST 800-53 and FISMA requirements.Participating in architecture reviews and contributing to ongoing cloud modernization and strategic planning initiatives.Maintaining comprehensive documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards for supporting teams. Essential Skills, ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent hands-on professional experience.Significant experience designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure within AWS environments.Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, and container orchestration platforms.Proficiency in developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation with tools such as Terraform.Proven experience in creating, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for both infrastructure and application deployments.Solid understanding of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM) and continuous infrastructure monitoring.Experience collaborating within Agile teams and utilizing modern project management and collaboration tools.Well-developed troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create and maintain architecture, operational, and procedural documentation.Qualifications:Experience supporting AWS GovCloud environments is strongly preferred.Familiarity with compliance frameworks including NIST 800-53 and FISMA requirements in cloud-based environments.Background supporting AI/ML infrastructure and cloud-native data services is a plus.Experience working with GitLab, GitLab CI/CD, Jira, or similar platforms.Relevant AWS certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer, are desirable.Previous experience supporting clients in highly regulated fields (government, financial services, or public sector) is a plus.Demonstrated contribution to the development or modernization of cloud architecture initiatives.ECCO Select is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
