Schedule Night Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (Block Scheduling is not guaranteed) Job Description We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for our Medical Surgical Stroke Stepdown Unit. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling complex medical cases, particularly in stroke recovery and general medical-surgical care. Floating to other units is required as needed, and the ability to care for adults with various diagnoses including stroke, altered mental status, respiratory issues, and renal complications is essential. Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to stroke stepdown patients and manage medical-surgical cases. Utilize specialty equipment including IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes. Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and routine assessments. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Medical-Surgical with Stroke Stepdown experience. Current AHA BLS certification. NIHSS certification is required (may be obtained prior to start). Active New York RN License and all active RN licenses must be verified through NURSYS. 2 recent references from MS Charge/Manager RNs.
