Pediatric Surgeon Locum Tenens Opportunity in Virginia Are you an experienced Board Certified pediatric surgeon seeking a fulfilling locum tenens opportunity? Join our team in providing exceptional surgical care to pediatric patients from newborns through teenage years. Job Details: Full-Time Coverage:Clinic hours Monday to Friday (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.)Night Call Coverage:Monday to Friday (8 p.m. - 8 a.m.)Weekend Call Coverage:24-hour coverage on Saturdays and SundaysRounding Responsibilities:Provide care for patients admitted during the weekWeekend surgical consults as neededConsults from the Emergency Department (ED):Approximately 0-2 calls per dayEmergency Surgeries:The hospital encounters around 8-10 emergent surgeries per yearNote: It is not a trauma hospitalResponse Time:15-minute maximum call-back time for emergency consults30-minute maximum response timePatient Load:0-4 patients per day per provider Duties Include: Collaborating with other pediatric providers to diagnose and determine if surgery is necessaryManaging and performing preoperative, operative, and postoperative careUtilizing office support staff during the day for triaging calls, including prescription refillsHandling after-hours calls, primarily from the Pediatric Emergency Department Submission Requirements: Board Certified Pediatric Surgeon - REQUIRED; no exceptionsVA State License & DEA - REQUIRED at the time of submissionCOVID Vaccination - Highly PreferredFlu Vaccine - REQUIRED at the time of credentialing Certification Requirements: Basic Life Support (BLS)Board CertifiedPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) State License Requirements: Virginia Additional License Requirements: Board certified in pediatric surgeryVA LicenseVA DEADon't miss this opportunity to be part of a dedicated team providing essential pediatric surgical care in Virginia.
