This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a client-facing environment, and can provide practical, compliant HR guidance tailored to each organization's needs.The HR Consultant will work directly with business owners and leadership teams, providing both strategic and hands-on HR support. This position is primarily based in the Buffalo area, with occasional onsite visits to clients in Rochester, NY.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a trusted HR advisor to clients across various industriesProvide guidance on complex employee relations issues, wage and hour compliance, performance management, leave management, leadership development and workplace policiesAssist with compliance of federal, state, and local employment lawsDevelop, review, and implement HR policies, customized handbooks, and proceduresSupport recruitment efforts, including job postings, interviewing, and onboardingConduct workplace investigations and provide recommendationsDeliver onsite HR support and training as neededPartner with clients on organizational development and HR best practicesQualificationsMinimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Consultant (required)Strong knowledge of New York State and federal employment lawsProven ability to manage multiple clients and prioritiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and in a client-facing environmentWillingness to travel locally to client sites in Buffalo and occasionally Rochester, NYBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferredHR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is a plusCompensation & BenefitsSalary range: $65,000 – $80,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)Health, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off (PTO)401(k) retirement planMileage reimbursement for travel (if applicable)Are you ready for an exciting opportunity?If you think this job aligns with your requirements, then submitting an application is simple.
