Position Title: Clinic AideReports To: Coordinator of Health Services/ Building AdministratorPosition SummaryThe Clinic Aide supports the daily operations of the school health office under the supervision of the school nurse. This position assists in providing basic care to students, maintaining health records, and ensuring a safe and organized clinic environment.Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesProvide basic first aid and care for ill or injured students under the direction of the school nurseAssist with student check-in/check-out for health-related visitsMaintain accurate and confidential student health recordsAdminister medications to students in accordance with district policy and under nurse supervisionAct as unlicensed Assistive personnel (UAP) cross-trained to assist with clinic coverageParticipate as active member of the building Cardiac Emergency Response Team (CERT)Contact parents/guardians regarding student illness or injury as directedMonitor students in the clinic and ensure a safe environmentMaintain inventory of clinic supplies and notify nurse when restocking is neededAssist with health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) as neededFollow district policies and procedures regarding student health and safetyAssist with clinic supply rotation and ordersAssist with maintaining a clean, hygienic clinic environmentActively participate in health services professional development and scheduled meetingsPerform other duties as assigned QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious experience in healthcare, childcare, or school setting preferredCPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)Strong communication and organizational skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive informationAbility to remain calm and respond appropriately in emergency situationsMaintain a professional and respectful clinic atmosphere and relationship with all stakeholders Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to [25-50] poundsAbility to stand, use stairs, walk, and assist students as neededFrequent bending, reaching, and sittingAbility to perform chest compressions Working ConditionsSchool clinic/health office environmentFrequent interaction with students, staff, and parentsExposure to illness and minor injuriesThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
