HVAC Sheet Metal MechanicNew England Mechanical Services, Inc., is seeking an HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our New London CT Operations Group. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and experienced in commercial sheet metal work, including the fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of sheet metal components and equipment. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and product specifications to determine appropriate fabrication and installation methods. #nemsi Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInclude but not limited to the following. Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products. Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts or uses templates. Set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block and form, or straighten materials. Train and instruct apprentices related to their on-the-job training requirements Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisor and crew members. Work independently and as a team member. Works with other trades to coordinate work on the job site. Keep trade licenses and certifications current. Attend all safety training provided and/or sponsored by NEMSI. Follow all NEMSI safety policies, procedures, and use personal protective equipment when performing installation and/or servicing HVAC systems. Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner while maintaining a clean and neat appearance. Other duties may be assigned. QualificationsConnecticut Sheet Metal 2 License 5 years of required experience with commercial HVAC systems Must have a valid driver's license Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent communication and written skills are a must. Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, smell and lift, set-up and climb ladders as well as stairways. The employee is frequently required to stand and occasionally sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move various weight ranges such as 0-50 lbs. frequently, 51-100 lbs. occasionally and 101 plus seldom. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Maintain a neat and clean appearance and utilize all protective equipment provided and as required.
