SummaryWorks with teachers and students in schools to improve the quality of teaching and student learning in any of the core content areas (reading, language arts, math, science, or social studies).Essential DutiesAssists teachers and grade level teams with the implementation of the Georgia standards Works with teachers to improve classroom management and climate through the implementation of effective instructional methodsAnalyzes student and teacher data to determine teaching and learning effectiveness Analyzes student test data and advise teachers and appropriate staff of trends, outcomes, needs and effective practicesDemonstrates, monitors, and evaluates the application of effective teaching strategiesRecommends best practices to achieve the desired student learning outcomesCoordinates site-based professional learning activities as neededConducts professional development at the school as neededUtilizes the coaching cycle to support teacher developmentAttends districtwide coach meetings and redeliver essential professional development to teachers Exhibits knowledge of performance-based instruction and assessmentParticipates in periodic professional learning activitiesPerforms other duties as assigned by the Principal Required EducationBachelor's Degree in a related fieldMaster's Degree preferredCertification/LicensureFor Elementary: Must hold or be eligible for a valid and clear teaching certificate in Birth-Kindergarten, Elementary Education (P-5), Special Education General Curriculum, or equivalent.
