Traffic & Transportation Engineer

OverviewMerrick & Company is seeking a motivated and passionate Traffic Engineer in Central Florida. We are looking for an individual to provide top quality transportation planning and traffic engineering studies, and ultimately achieve the designation of a Florida Professional Engineer (PE). The prospective candidate will exercise engineering judgement under the guidance and supervision of a senior Florida PE and take pride in their work products.What You'll DoConduct transportation analysis, plans preparation and report writingParticipate in meetings, including preparing presentations and public outreach materialsConduct site visits and collect field dataOther duties as needed Required QualificationsCompleted bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in civil engineeringEngineer in Training (EIT) certificate or the ability to obtain8 years of experience in conducting traffic operational and safety analyses, plans preparation and report writing Solid understanding of traffic flow theory and transportation systems analysisExperience in one or more of the following topic areas: field work, traffic operations analysis, signal design, transportation planning, travel demand modeling, traffic and safety studiesExperience with the following software tools, or similar: HCS, Synchro, Vissim, Corsim, other micro/macro simulation tools, AutoCAD, Microstation, OpenRoadsCandidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the futureDesired QualificationsAbility to work well in a team environmentInterpersonal skills, a desire to learn and collaborate, highly organized, ability to balance multiple tasksMotivational spirit to learn new skills and seek feedbackPERKSEmployee Owned - all eligible U.S. employees have an Employee Stock Ownership Account.Robust Employee Referral Program.Annual performance and compensation reviews.Professional Training and Development.Employee Recognition Awards.Peer Mentor ProgramAnd Much More!Additional InformationApply online only.
