<p><strong>Location:</strong> Waunakee, WI<br><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Full-time<br><strong>Schedule:</strong> 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday<br><strong>Wage:</strong> $21 – $25 per hour, depending on experience</p><p>ABR Employment Services is partnering with a custom metal fabrication manufacturer in Waunakee, WI to recruit for skilled <strong>Fabricator / Welder</strong> positions.</p><hr><h2>Position Overview</h2><p>The Fabricator / Welder is responsible for forming, cutting, and welding metal components and subassemblies according to blueprint specifications and established quality standards. This role operates a variety of fabrication equipment including press brakes, plasma cutters, torches, saws, grinders, forklifts, and overhead cranes.</p><p>The ideal candidate brings strong welding experience, blueprint reading ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.</p><hr><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li><p>Operate MIG welders (.035 wire preferred) and dual shield welding (.045 preferred) to weld components and subassemblies</p><li><p>Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, layouts, welding symbols, and geometric tolerancing</p><li><p>Form material using press brake equipment</p><li><p>Cut and prepare material using plasma cutters, torches, shears, saws, grinders, and track torches</p><li><p>Inspect finished weldments for conformance to blueprint specifications and quality standards</p><li><p>Complete required welding and inventory documentation; report discrepancies as needed</p><li><p>Perform material handling duties using forklifts and overhead cranes</p><li><p>Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas</p><li><p>Follow all established manufacturing processes, safety procedures, and quality standards</p><li><p>Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and production processes</p><li><p>Perform other duties as assigned</p></ul><hr><h2>Qualifications</h2><h3>Required:</h3><ul><li><p>Minimum 3 years of welding experience preferred</p><li><p>Experience with MIG welding (.035) and dual shield welding (.045) preferred</p><li><p>Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings</p><li><p>Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide; read tape measure)</p><li><p>Ability to operate fabrication equipment including welder, plasma cutter, torches, hand tools, forklift, and overhead crane</p><li><p>Ability to obtain forklift certification and welding certification</p><li><p>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions</p></ul><hr><h2>Physical Requirements</h2><ul><li><p>Ability to stand for extended periods</p><li><p>Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching overhead</p><li><p>Regular lifting up to 25 lbs; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs</p><li><p>Ability to work in environments with fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise levels</p><li><p>Must wear required PPE including safety glasses, welding helmet, steel-toed boots, gloves, sleeves, apron, and hearing protection</p></ul><hr><h2>Work Environment</h2><p>This position operates in a manufacturing and welding environment with exposure to fumes, moving mechanical parts, and loud noise levels.
