Director of Agronomy

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Director of Agronomy located in Placida, FL. The Director of Agronomy will oversee all aspects of turfgrass management and agronomic practices across the golf courses, including maintenance schedules, irrigation management, and pest control. Responsibilities include managing budgets, supervising and developing the maintenance team, planning and implementing environmentally sustainable practices, and ensuring the highest quality of playing conditions. Working closely with the management team, the Director of Agronomy will also be responsible for long-term strategic planning and fostering collaboration across departments. Qualifications Expertise in turfgrass management, irrigation systems, and pest/disease controlLeadership experience, including staff development, training, and team supervisionBudgeting, cost control, and financial management skillsKnowledge of sustainability practices in golf course agronomyStrong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency in agronomic software and toolsBachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Turfgrass Science, or related field (preferred)Professional certifications such as GCSA or equivalent are highly desirable
