Director

Day Haven is a social model adult day services program providing daytime care for frail older adults and those with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia. We are currently seeking a Director to oversee our programs in Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson. Responsibilities Include · Marketing/Outreach : Conduct all in-person outreach activities for social adult day program Including: attending networking meetings, senior fairs and other events. Manage social media content and email marketing campaigns. Represent program at all public functions and with all stakeholders. Communicate with all stakeholders, participants, caregivers, staff, funding agencies, contract and funding agencies, government agencies, · Fundraising: Event planning for all fundraising events, including securing event sponsors, develop annual appeal campaign, grant writing and management, including reporting project outcomes. Ensure that funds are being spent according to funder requirements. · Programmatic Responsibilities: Ensure that program adheres to New York State Office for the Aging guidelines for social day care and update policies and procedures as necessary; Ensure regular review and implementation of health and safety measure to protect program participants and staff; Manage relationships with contracted Medicaid Managed Long Term Care Companies; Participate in the New York State Adult Day Services Association meetings to stay abreast of changing regulations; Lobby legislators about issues pertinent to social model day care. Also included is oversight of record keeping, including all elements of participant eligibility, care planning, attendance, CACFP, accident/incident reports, billing and discharge. Oversight of all caregiver support activities, including support groups and educational events. · Supervisory Responsibilities: Overall Supervision of social day care staff, volunteers and student interns. Facilitating monthly meetings with Site Supervisors to ensure communication, resolve issues, plan events, etc. Serve as back-up to Site Supervisors. Approve all hiring and termination requests and review/approve all corrective action; Coordinate staff training as per NYSOFA Regulations and elements required by relevant funding sources, including arranging orientation training and annual all-staff training day, monitoring annual required training topics. and ensuring that all staff are in compliance with medicals/PPD’s. · Quality Assurance: Oversee annual program self-assessment. Administer caregiver and participant satisfaction surveys. Administrative review of all regulatory requirements and program operations. · Budgeting: Approve all purchase requests and expenditures; Monitor financials and make adjustments if needed; Ensure payment is received for services rendered; Ensure maximum utilization of grant opportunities; Approve all purchase requests and expenditures, Monitor financials and make adjustments if needed; Ensure payment is received for services rendered Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree/ Master’s preferred, in Social Work, Health Administration or related field and at least three years of program management and supervisory experience.
