Freight Handler

Freight HandlerCritical job functions:Always maintains a focus on safety; requests assistance as needed to perform work safelyReports unsafe conditions to supervisorFollows written and oral instructions in a freight dock/LTL environmentOperates forklift to load or move material and products; moves freight by hand when requiredLoads and unloads freight to/from trailers, containers and straight trucks; transports freight from storage dock area or trailers to designated areaUses straps, load bars and dunnage to secure freight in trailers and containers to prevent damage in transitStacks freight onto pallets and secures with shrink wrap, tape and other packaging materialUses scales and dimensioning machines to inspect freightUses scanning technology to track every movement of every shipment; maintains an accurate count of pallets in each shipmentAttaches identifying tags or labels to freight or marks information on cases, pallets and other shipment packaging, as requiredReports damaged and missing freight to supervisorCleans work area, trailers, containers and forkliftsParticipates in team efforts to achieve department and company goalsJob requirements:Forklift driver qualificationRoadrunner Freight is building something special with great people, a winning culture and a differentiated service offering in the marketplace.
