Job Description Expert -Software ArchitectThe Expert Software Architect will support themodernization of Division of Laboratory QualityCertification (DLQC) applications by performing redesignactivities. The modernization of Division of LaboratoryQuality Certification applications will allow for approval oflaboratories to perform COVID-19 testing and tracklaboratory investigationsThe Expert Software Architect will design, coordinate andarchitect technical aspects of applications to allow forrapid Agile implementation. The Expert Software Architectguide a development team to analyze, design and programcomplex projects including coordinating activities onmultiple aspects of the project, assuring quality controland providing technical guidance to project teams, as wellas interfacing with business owners and projectmanagement staff. The Expert Software Architect willreview business requirements documentation with projectteam to clarify for technical design, guide systems andprogram design to meet highly complex business needs,preparation of detailed technical specifications from whichprograms are developed, and creation of appropriatedocumentation in work assignments such as program codeand technical documentation. The Expert SoftwareArchitect will prepare development time estimates andjustifications for assigned tasks and providerecommendations to project manager, coordinatedevelopment activities, selects technologies, design testingplans, assure quality control and effective change controland provide technical guidance to project teams. TheExpert Software Architect will code, test, debug,implement, and document highly complex programs, anddevelop complex test plans to verify logic programs;develop and maintain release management processincluding planning, tracking, communication andcoordination of technical tasks associated with release;and support project personnel in resolving complexprogram problems. The Expert Software Architect willserve as technical project lead, providing guidance to lessexperienced technical personnel, as well as identify, trackand resolve issues, recommend changes and provide supporting documentation. Consultant works onsite inAlbany, NY at supervisor’s discretion.
