Staff Performance Engineer

Want to work with a team of performance and software engineers building infrastructure and solving meaningful problems? You’ll need to have architecture and software development skills, in addition to being able to think creatively. Performance engineering is crucial to push the limits of Arm designs and ensuring both hardware and software are well optimized, and with our team, you will have the opportunity to work directly with other hard-working software engineers and performance engineers alike.ResponsibilitiesAs a seasoned performance engineer, you will be working on optimizing server workloads, their behavior on various server platforms, and resolving how to improve their performance including:Leveraging your workload and platform expertise at various levels including SW stack, platform, SOC and CPU coresBenchmarking workloads on various server platforms, collecting and analyzing telemetry dataDeveloping and enhancing innovative tools for performance analysis/performance regressionsBuild on you existing knowledge of computer architecture and micro-architecture, and leveraging it to root cause performance issuesWorking in a highly collaborative environment with engineers spanning multiple organizationsContributing to future server designsMentoring junior engineers to achieve and exceed team level goalsIdentifying technical and process gaps and driving closureRequired Skills And ExperienceObtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field; Masters degree highly preferredKnowledge of computer architecture/microarchitectureStrong programming experience in C, C++ and scripting languagesFamiliarity with industry standard benchmarks and cloud native applicationsMastery in server applications and system and software debugUnderstanding of emerging workloads and areas of compute, including AIProven experience working with customers on performance analysis and debugExperience using distributed source control, e.g. GitProven data analysis capabilityWillingness to learn new skills pertaining to workload execution and analysis in pre- and post-silicon environments.Comfortable working in a Linux environmentSpeak and writes English fluently“Nice To Have” Skills And ExperienceExperience doing performance analysis in pre-silicon environments is a plus.Experience with Python and Object Orientated DesignFamiliarity with databases, preferably NoSQL basedFamiliarity with CI/CD processes and pipelinesIn ReturnAt Arm, we are guided by our core beliefs that reflect our rare culture and guide our decisions, defining how we work together to surpass ordinary and shape extraordinary:We not ITake daily responsibility to make the Global Arm community thriveNo individual is responsible for the right answer.
