Opportunity Acres is a 56 acres acre ranch, licensed as an Adult Day Program that serves men and women diagnosed on the autism spectrum. This program provides unique opportunities for the development of skills in agriculture, animal care, independent living skills, construction, and community integration. Our clients (Team Members) are the caretakers for many horses, goats, sheep, mini-ponies, and a donkey. They work together within a 1:3 staff/client ratio to take care of our animals on a daily basis, maintain the grounds, construct fences, garden, and take part in daily recreational activities.
We are looking for qualified, motivated, creative, caring, and reliable individuals to join our direct care staff (Partners) while providing meaningful and educational interactions with our clients. 26-30 hours of initial training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is provided, as well as ongoing training throughout employment. Direct care staff also receives daily support and supervision from our lead staff, clinical behavior consultant, and administrator. This position requires 25-35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, including mileage reimbursement while transporting clients to and from our program. Guaranteed Holidays off! Our direct care staff are expected to implement instructional plans, activity plans, and behavior intervention plans as they are written by our clinical team. Staff must come to work with a great deal of patience and understanding, while being expected to work together toward our common goal of fulfilling lives of independence and success for our clients.
Qualifications for this position include:
-Be at least 18 years of age
-Possess a high school diploma or higher degree (college coursework in Psychology, Education preferred)
-A clean DMV record
-Pass a DOJ and FBI clearance
-Clear TB test
-Must be physically capable to maneuver through uneven terrain, walk long distances, carry 25-50 pounds, and keep up with the demands of working on a ranch.
