Assisted Living Culinary Associate – CookLegacy of the Meadows is an assisted living community seeking a Culinary Associate - Cook to complete our dynamic Culinary team bringing back an old fashion care and delivery of nutritious and tasty food for our residents and visitors in an upscale manner.We are looking for a Cook to prepare delicious meals according to menu and under the direction of our Culinary Director. You will cook dishes that will delight our residents with presentation, taste, and timely serving. The right candidate must be able to follow instructions in cooking and have a willingness to learn. The Cook will be able to move about our well-appointed commercial kitchen and be adept in multi-tasking while adhering to expectations of the role. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important.ResponsibilitiesSet up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipmentEnsure compliance with Food Code, Company policies and procedures, and evidence-based best practices.Dishwashing, sanitizing and maintaining a clean and safe environmentAdditional Responsibilities / DutiesAbility to learn and adhere to specialty diets for some residents, as applicable.Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)Cook food in various utensils or grillersCheck food while cooking to stir or turnEnsure high quality presentation by dressing dishes before servingKeep a clean, sanitized, and orderly environment in the kitchenEnsure all food and other items are stored properly and safelyCheck quality of ingredientsMonitor stock and notify Culinary Director when there are shortagesSkills & QualificationsExcellent customer service skills and friendly demeanorProven experience as cook or a strong interest in learningExperience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakewareKnowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)Ability to follow all sanitation proceduresAbility to work in a team yet also function primarily independentlyExcellent communication skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent; diploma or coursework from a culinary school will be an advantageJob TypePart-time to Full-time; Potential for SeasonalBenefitsSeveral Employee-Sponsored Benefits AvailableJ-18808-Ljbffr
