Maintenance Manager
1st shift Maintenance Manager needed in Haverhill, MA. Full-time role $90K-$95K with benefits and pension plan. 5–10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required.OverviewThe Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance team, manage maintenance planning and execution, coordinate outside service providers when required, and ensure equipment is available to support production requirements. This role is critical to maintaining production flow and reducing downtime in a high-mix, precision machining environment.Essential ResponsibilitiesEquipment Reliability & Maintenance PlanningDevelop, implement, and continuously improve preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all production equipmentCreate and maintain maintenance schedules for all CNC machines, support equipment, and other shop machineryDrive improvements in equipment uptime, reliability, and OEEIdentify recurring equipment failures and lead root cause analysis and corrective action effortsEstablish and maintain equipment maintenance standards, procedures, and documentationMaintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and history for all equipmentMaintenance ExecutionLead and prioritize daily maintenance activities to support production requirementsAssign maintenance personnel to planned and unplanned maintenance workEnsure rapid response to machine downtime and equipment failuresTroubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control-related issuesDetermine when outside contractors or OEM support are required and coordinate their activitiesSupport equipment installations, commissioning, upgrades, rebuilds, and relocation projectsTeam LeadershipSupervise, coach, and develop maintenance personnelSet clear priorities and expectations for the maintenance teamEnsure the team is properly trained on equipment, troubleshooting, and safe work practicesBuild a culture of urgency, accountability, and continuous improvement within the departmentSpare Parts ManagementManage spare parts inventory and MRO materials to ensure critical components are available when neededIdentify critical spare parts and establish minimum inventory levelsEvaluate repair versus replacement decisions and recommend cost-effective solutionsContinuous ImprovementTransition the department from reactive maintenance to a proactive, predictive maintenance approachDevelop and track key maintenance metrics including uptime, downtime, response time, MTBF, MTTR, and OEELead projects to improve machine reliability, reduce downtime, and increase throughputWork closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to support manufacturing goalsPosition Requirements5–10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentMinimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experienceStrong experience supporting CNC machine tools and precision machining equipment requiredExperience in a machine shop, aerospace, or other precision manufacturing environment strongly preferredExperience with preventative and predictive maintenance systems requiredStrong leadership and team development skillsExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilityAbility to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to communicate effectively across all levels of the organizationResults-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and accountabilityStrong knowledge of CNC machine tools and related manufacturing equipmentStrong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC/control systemsExperience troubleshooting machine tool issues and coordinating OEM supportExperience with CMMS systems preferredProficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and OutlookMust be detail oriented and understand the importance of attention to detail.Must be able to walk through and stand on 130k square foot facility frequentlyMust be able to lift 50 lbs.Must be willing to learn new skills through company training opportunities and outside training programs.
