Data Center Engineer

Job Summary:We are seeking a Data Center L1 Engineer responsible for providing first-level support for data center operations, including monitoring, basic troubleshooting, and physical infrastructure handling. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth day-to-day operations and escalate issues when required.Key Responsibilities:Monitor data center infrastructure (servers, network devices, power, cooling)Perform first-level (L1) troubleshooting for hardware and network issuesHandle rack and stack activities (installation, cabling, labeling)Perform basic server checks (LED status, hardware alerts, connectivity)Manage and monitor ticketing systems and respond to incidents within SLACoordinate with L2/L3 teams for issue escalationMaintain proper documentation of incidents, changes, and proceduresEnsure adherence to data center policies, security, and access controlAssist in routine maintenance activities and scheduled downtime tasksMonitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, power usage)Required Skills & Qualifications:Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field0–2 years of experience in IT support or data center operationsBasic knowledge of hardware, servers, and networking conceptsFamiliarity with Windows/Linux basicsUnderstanding of IP addressing, cabling, and connectivityAbility to follow SOPs and escalation proceduresWillingness to work in 24/7 shiftsPreferred Skills:Basic knowledge of data center infrastructure (UPS, cooling systems)Familiarity with ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)Knowledge of ITIL framework is a plusSoft Skills:Good communication skillsAttention to detailAbility to work in a team environmentTime management and disciplineJob Location:(Onsite – Data Center Facility)Employment Type:Dispatch/ On demand
