Forward Deployed EngineerAs a Forward Deployed Engineer at Zeromatter, you'll be our technical expert embedded within our customer's engineering teams to ensure they are successful in integrating and leveraging our simulation platform. You'll work hands-on with customers, possibly at their location, to solve complex integration challenges, build custom solutions, and remove any barriers that prevent them from achieving their goals. This role offers the unique opportunity to see our technology deployed across diverse robotics and autonomy applications while directly influencing product development based on real-world customer needs. This is primarily a software engineering role with a strong focus on integration and related cross-functional work.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with customers to provide hands-on technical support and integration assistance.Debug complex technical issues spanning customer systems and our simulation platform.Build custom datasets, scenarios, and tooling to meet specific customer requirements.Develop integration solutions, scripts, and workflows to streamline customer adoption of our platform.Collaborate with customer engineering teams to understand their technical challenges and architect solutions.Document customer feedback, technical requirements, and integration patterns to inform product development.Contribute to core platform improvements based on field experience when not on customer assignment.Serve as a technical liaison between customers and our engineering teams to ensure smooth communication.QualificationsBachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. computer science, mechanical engineering, physics, math, robotics, etc.) or equivalent working experience.Deployed engineer experience or professional experience (3+ years) in developing robotics, aerospace, or automotive applications.Strong programming ability in Python.Strong programming ability in C++ or Rust.Experience debugging complex distributed systems and integration of large software systems.Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.Proven ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new technical environments.Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization technologies.Familiarity with ML workflows and conceptsBackground in customer-facing technical roles or field engineering.Experience with sensor systems (e.g., camera, lidar, radar).BenefitsOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The total pay for this position ranges from $100,000 a year up to $300,000 a year + equity + benefits. Pay is based on several factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package also includes benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance; Unlimited paid time off; and more.
