This role will be responsible for both database development and administration, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of SQL Server environments. This position supports government‐related systems, requiring candidates to be U.S. Citizens.The ideal candidate has strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, T‐SQL development, performance tuning, and database administration, and enjoys working across both operational support and development initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase DevelopmentDesign, develop, and maintain T‐SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functionsBuild and optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and reporting queriesSupport application teams with database schema design and data modelingDevelop complex queries for analytics and reporting needsDatabase AdministrationManage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environmentsMonitor database performance, uptime, and system healthImplement and manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery processesSupport database upgrades, patching, and deployment activitiesPerformance OptimizationAnalyze and tune queries, indexes, and database structuresIdentify and resolve database performance bottlenecksOptimize storage, indexing, and execution plansSecurity & ComplianceImplement database access controls and security best practicesSupport compliance with data governance and security standardsMonitor database activity and maintain audit controlsCollaborationWork closely with application developers, data engineers, and infrastructure teamsSupport database changes across development, staging, and production environmentsMaintain documentation for database architecture and operational proceduresRequired QualificationsU.S. Citizenship required due to government contract support5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL ServerStrong experience writing T‐SQL queries, stored procedures, and functionsExperience with database performance tuning and indexing strategiesHands‐on experience managing SQL Server backups, restores, and maintenanceExperience troubleshooting production database issuesStrong understanding of relational database designPreferred QualificationsExperience with SSIS, SSRS, or SSASExposure to Azure SQL or cloud‐based database environmentsExperience supporting data warehousing or reporting environmentsFamiliarity with Power BI or BI toolsExperience with database CI/CD or DevOps pipelinesKey SkillsMicrosoft SQL ServerT‐SQL DevelopmentDatabase AdministrationQuery OptimizationPerformance TuningData ModelingBackup & Disaster RecoveryETL / Data IntegrationThe base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is $60,000—$140,000 USD. Individual compensation varies based on job‐related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
