ERDCWERX empowers industry and academia to identify new partnerships for innovation and commercialization with ERDC and invites non-traditional defense contractors to submit, at no cost, solutions to specific projects identified by ERDC. Located in Vicksburg, MS, ERDCWERX (EWX) was created under a Partnership Intermediary Agreement between DEFENSEWERX and the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC).This position is open to current employees only.JOB SUMMARYWorks closely with EWX, DWX, and ERDC personnel to oversee the investigation, design, implementation, and support of tech challenge and other technology transfer and transition (T3) initiativesSupervises, coaches, and develops the EWX project team of 4 individualsDevelops initiatives that invite and compel submissions from businesses, universities, and individual innovators by collaborating with economic development professionals, business associations, and other key referral sourcesProvides guidance and direct support for ERDC partnering and contracting effortsIntroduces and supports processes and tools for implementation and evaluation of innovation technologies and project managementCollaborates with the EWX Director, Deputy Director, and EWX team to support the growth and quality of the EWX program of workContributes to the formation of EWX and DWX special projects and strategy as appropriateESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Guide and support EWX project intake and project formulation and implementationSupport EWX team roles in project planning, budgeting, and tracking, systems optimization, tech evaluation, activity reporting, promotional messaging, and market researchCapture and communicate best practices that could benefit EWXCollaborate with other team members to scout, validate, and incorporate technical and planning tools to maximize EWX efficiencies and effectivenessBuild and foster tech- and process-focused relationships with ERDC and other DoD/Industry/Academia customers as well as DWX innovation hubsIdentify and develop new partnerships with organizations, networks and groups to scale and participate in marketing/communications efforts to disseminate EWX content and project opportunitiesExpand and strengthen processes with EWX marketing/communications and events teams to engage customer leads within industry and government sectorsBe a part of the outward face of the EWX organization in public speaking, social media, etc.Contribute directly to the identification and selection of interns and new team membersParticipate in special projects focusing on technology and innovationProvide Director and Deputy Director with strategic input and collaborationAssist and collaborate with EWX and ERDC team membersSupport and attend key engagements to represent EWX (technology and industry forums / showcases / events / speeches)Travel required to support field operations and multiple lab locations, primarily local (10%) with limited nonlocal travel (5%), concentrated in the spring-fall period.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience requiredMinimum 7-10 years of experience working in strategic planning, sales management, supervision/personnel management, process improvement, project management, and/or technology transferBe a self-starter that is well organized, efficient, has excellent time management and can manage multiple complex projects
