Program Assistant/Social Recreation- DeGeorge Club

Job Description The Program Assistant will implement activities provided within a specific program area, such as Education, Special Education (Technology), Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, Character & Leadership, Health & Life Skills and Physical Education.Key Roles (Essential Responsibilities):Teach Club members basic knowledge and rules of recreational games, such as billiards, foosball, table tennis, board games, etc. Engage members' participation and help them develop good character, by modeling sportsmanship, communication, honesty, fair play, conflict resolution, and team work.Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development OutcomesPromote and stimulate program participationProvide guidance and role modeling to membersConduct games and activitiesMonitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of club at all timesSupervise childrenEnforce Boys & Girls Club RulesBe a good example and a good listener to the membersEnsure children obey safety rulesEnsure all children are accounted forAssist in daily care and maintenance of building, grounds and vehiclesRelationships:Internal: Maintain contact with Club program staffExternal: Maintain contact with members and parents as needed; provide advice and/or discipline.Skills & Knowledge Required:High School diploma or GEDExperience working with childrenAbility to motivate youth and manage behavior problemsAbility to organize and supervise members in a safe environmentAbility to enforce Boys & Girls Clubs rules and policies in a fair and equitable mannerCertificate of CPR and First Aid PreferredValid Florida Driver's License with safe driving preferred.Physical Requirements/Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
