Direct Support Professional
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence. You will work closely with clients in their homes, to enhance their quality of life through patient care and monitoring.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Monitor clients' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Advocate for resident rights and ensure that all clients are treated with dignity and respect.
Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
Engage clients in social activities that promote interaction and enhance their social skills.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, and other healthcare providers, to deliver comprehensive care.
Qualifications
Previous experience in patient care or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy principles is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
Ability to remain patient and calm in challenging situations while providing compassionate support.
Familiarity with assisted living environments or nursing homes is beneficial.
A background in social work or senior care is advantageous but not required.
Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
