Mechanical Engineer (Hands-On | Instrumentation)Houston, TX (Onsite) | Direct HireWe're looking for a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys being hands-on — not just sitting behind a screen.This role combines SolidWorks design, shop work (CNC/lathe), testing, and field support for high-temperature measurement systems used in oil & gas and industrial environments.What You'll DoDesign and modify mechanical components and assemblies for temperature measurement systemsDevelop and maintain CAD models/drawings using SolidWorksSupport fabrication and testing using CNC, lathe (primary), and shop equipmentTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issuesConduct field visits for installation, testing, and validationPerform calibration and ensure system accuracyContribute to R&D and continuous product improvementRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology1–3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentProficiency in SolidWorksStrong hands-on mechanical aptitude (shop experience required)Basic understanding of electrical components and systemsComfortable working in industrial/plant environmentsExperience with 3D printing or part fabricationPreferred QualificationsExperience with thermocouples or temperature measurement systemsBackground in oil & gas, chemical plants, or industrial processingCNC programming or ability to make editsExposure to instrumentation or control systemsFamiliarity with Linux or system configurationHOUIT41
