Mortuary Removal Technician

GMS Transportation, the New Orleans Metropolitan Area's largest privately owned, mortuary transportation business, is in search of a removal technician experienced in the removal/transport of human remains from residences, hospitals, hospice, retirement facilities, coroner's offices and funeral homes, in accordance with all state, local and company policies and procedures. GMS Transport covers the entire state of Louisiana, Mississippi and all of East Texas. We will work around your schedule! This is currently on-call positions with hourly compensation only when you have to work. It is a perfect position for people with flexible time looking to supplement their income. Candidates for the position must have the following: - Prior experience with transportation of human remains , experience in the funeral industry or be enrolled in mortuary science classes. - Clean driving record to be able to meet requirements of company auto insurance policies. - Cell phone so contact can be made at any time while on call. - Live in or within 10 minutes of Metairie, LA - Adequate physical strength to perform or assist in removal of decedents from the location of death up to 200 to 300 pounds. - Clean, professional appearance and appropriate dress for removals (business dress, suit and/or sports coat and tie preferred).
