Job Title: ChemistJob DescriptionThe Chemist supports an analytical R&D laboratory focused on household pesticide formulations, including aerosols, baits, liquids, and repellents. In this role, you conduct analytical testing, support method development and validation, and perform stability studies to ensure products meet quality and regulatory standards before market release. You work closely with formulation and compliance teams and balance hands-on laboratory work with detailed documentation, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.ResponsibilitiesRun analytical testing using HPLC and GC to evaluate product quality, performance, and stability.Support development, optimization, and validation of analytical methods for new and existing products.Conduct stability studies to assess product shelf life, packaging performance, and formulation robustness.Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in all laboratory activities.Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely laboratory notebooks, reports, and electronic data records.Assist with data analysis, interpretation of results, and preparation of reports to support R&D decisions.Support laboratory operations, including cleaning glassware, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and performing general housekeeping tasks.Assist with routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of analytical instruments such as HPLC and GC systems.Update databases and complete administrative laboratory tasks related to GLP documentation and record-keeping.Collaborate with formulation, analytical, and compliance teams to ensure products meet quality and regulatory expectations.Adhere to safety guidelines and laboratory best practices while handling chemicals, samples, and equipment.Adapt to different projects and testing methods as priorities shift within the R&D portfolio.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related science field.2–4 years of experience working in an analytical laboratory environment, such as quality control or R&D.At least 2 years of hands-on experience operating HPLC and GC instruments.Experience working with chromatography data systems, such as Agilent/OpenLab or ChemStation.Strong understanding and practical application of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).Proven ability to follow SOPs closely and maintain detailed, compliant laboratory documentation.High level of attention to detail, consistency, and accuracy in experimental work and record-keeping.Ability to work independently, manage daily tasks, and execute laboratory work with minimal supervision.Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to understand and interpret analytical results rather than only following procedural steps.Effective time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tests and documentation requirements.Additional Skills & QualificationsMaster’s degree in Chemistry or a related field is welcome but not required.Experience with UV-Vis spectroscopy for quantitative and qualitative analysis.Hands-on experience with titration techniques in an analytical or quality control setting.Experience in stability testing within consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical, or food industries.Experience using Agilent analytical instrumentation and associated software platforms.Exposure to method development or troubleshooting of analytical methods in regulated product environments such as pesticides, pharmaceuticals, food, or other highly regulated sectors.Demonstrated reliability, consistency, and a strong sense of ownership over laboratory work.Comfort working in a focused, task-oriented environment where quality and accuracy are prioritized.Ability to adapt across different projects, product types, and testing methodologies as business needs evolve.Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with R&D, analytical, and compliance colleagues.Work EnvironmentThis is a primarily lab-based role, with approximately 60–70% of your time spent performing hands-on analytical testing and 20–30% devoted to office-based documentation, data analysis, and reporting. You work in a modern R&D laboratory equipped with newer analytical instrumentation, including HPLC and GC systems, within a structured and safety-focused environment. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, generally 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with flexibility for a start time between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., and no weekend work required, supporting a stable work-life balance. The culture emphasizes collaboration with R&D and analytical teams, while also providing ample opportunity for independent work and technical skill development.
