Job description:Amwest Ambulance, a leading ambulance service provider in California, is actively recruiting California licensed Registered Nurses to work in our Los Angeles County operational area as we expand our Critical Care Program serving the residents of Los Angeles County.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Responds to and assists with emergency and non-emergency transports requiring a nurseAdministers nursing skills under stressful and non-stressful situations in accordance with established protocols and within scope of practiceIdentifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirementsEstablishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients, friends, and familiesIndependently assesses all patient populations, including (but not limited to) pediatric, obstetric, cardiac, trauma, neurological, geriatric, GI/GU, and is able to create and execute an appropriate care plan within specified protocolsPromotes patient awareness by establishing patient care goals, teaching the patient and family regarding the illness or disease process, and provides treatment while in the care of the transport teamAssures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments by collaborating with team members and multidisciplinary members; staying current with SCT guidelines and attending required in-services, training and staff meetingsEnsures continuity of services while adhering to all laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures as they pertain to the SCT and EMS ProgramMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and by benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.Maintains a positive, professional and cooperative working relationship with other Amwest Ambulance providers, our partner hospitals as well as other specialty transport teams.Communicates and collaborates with the Critical Care Program Director, SCT Supervisor and/or the Medical Director on pertinent issuesMaintains thorough familiarity with treatment protocols, response requirements and quality assurance procedures in accordance with local EMS agency policyMaintains awareness of any and all changes in the system components and company policiesMaintains the level and type of certification consistent with performing RN job responsibilitiesEnsures that the unit remains in a state of readiness, including medical supplies, narcotics, and equipmentAssists with keeping the ambulance clean inside and outCompletes all appropriate medical documentationAttends SCT team meetingsMaintains a cooperative working relationship with allied health and public safety personnelMaintains a professional appearance by adhering to personal grooming and dress code standardsReports all problems and unusual occurrences immediately to the Director of Clinical Programs, as well as complete the appropriate written reportMonitors performance of EMT partners, corrects errors as necessary, provides training and feedbackDemonstrates ability to solve unusual problems and give articulate direction under minimal supervisionPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Must be currently licensed by the California Board of Registered Nurses with no violations or restrictions to practiceTwo years of experience (within the last 18 months) providing care to a wide variety of patient populations in a critical care environment (ER or ICU) in a facility that treats high acuity patients with a wide range of diagnoses.
