ControllerLocation: South JerseyAbout the OpportunityA well-established, privately held transportation and logistics company is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting function and partner with executive leadership. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, internal controls, payroll, and developing a high-performing accounting team.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the month-end close process and prepare accurate financial statementsOversee the general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial reportingManage billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flowLead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisMaintain strong internal controls and support auditsOversee payroll processing and complianceIdentify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and system efficiencyMentor and develop the accounting team while partnering with leadership on strategic initiativesQualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller-level responsibilitiesExperience leading accounting teamsStrong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and GAAPAdvanced Excel and ERP/accounting systems experienceCompensation & BenefitsSalary: $150,000–$180,000 annuallyComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, paid holidays, company-paid life and disability insurance, educational assistance, EAP, and incentive opportunities.
