Park Groundskeeper 1Schaumburg Park District is an award-winning parks and recreation agency that provides its 80,000 residents with a wide variety of recreational programs, classes, and events as well as facilities, parks and open spaces. Additionally, the Schaumburg Park District hosts thousands of visitors and guests annually at its activities and major tournaments.
Job SummaryThe Park Groundskeeper 1 reports to the Parks Supervisor and is primarily responsible for park maintenance such as mowing, weeding, and mulching. Assists with the renovation of existing parks and fields. Also performs seasonal duties, including snow removal, salting, outdoor ice rink maintenance, and seasonal park clean-up and maintenance. Assists with special event set-up and take-down, and other duties as assigned.
QualificationsApplicants must be at least 18 years old. The best applicants will have a high school diploma (or equivalent) along with some prior experience in parks maintenance. A valid Illinois driver's license is required. This position can be physically demanding and includes significant exposure to dust, dirt, and debris.
Scheduling & PayThis is a full-time, year-round, non-exempt position. Schedule is generally Monday Friday from 6:45am 3:15pm. Overtime work may be required based on need. Weekend rotation required. Target pay rate is $21.00 to $22.50 per hour DOQ (depending on qualifications).
