Tresco is seeking a reliable and experienced Grounds Maintenance Worker to help keep our grounds and rest areas clean, safe, and well-manicured. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and is looking for a consistent part-time morning schedule.
What You’ll Do
Grounds & Landscape Maintenance
Perform grounds maintenance duties according to contract schedules and standards
Mow improved grounds using walking or zero-turn riding lawnmowers
Trim hedges, shrubs, and edges around walkways, buildings, planters, and walls
Pull weeds, operate weed eaters, and apply weed control as needed
Use blowers and manually collect trash, leaves, limbs, and debris to maintain a neat appearance
Prune shrubs and trees using shears and saws
Aerate and fertilize grounds as needed
Address storm-related damage promptly, including fallen limbs and debris
Irrigation & Equipment
Repair and replace Rain Bird valves, sprinkler systems, timers, pipes, fittings, and wiring
Dig ditches as needed for irrigation repairs
Monitor tools and equipment and report malfunctions or safety concerns
Professional Responsibilities
Report to work on time and remain alert during work hours
Adhere to dress code and all Tresco policies and procedures
Attend required trainings and staff meetings
Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA, SDS, HIPAA, Workers’ Compensation)
Represent Tresco in a positive, professional manner
Carry and respond to work phone communications promptly
Operate company or personal vehicles as required and maintain cleanliness of company vehicles
Demonstrate respect for diversity and work effectively within a diverse community
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in grounds maintenance, irrigation systems, and mowing/tractor equipment
Licenses & Driving
Valid Driver’s License (driving required)
Background & Security Requirements
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the following checks:
Office of Inspector General / CMMS Exclusions List ✔
Driving Record (MVR) ✔
General Background Check ✔
New Mexico Department of Health Fingerprinting ✔
Skills & Abilities
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, professional grounds
Ability to work independently and follow contract standards
