Facilities Associate

The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our facilities team. Weekend and evening availability is required for this position. This position is full-time, scheduled for 30 hours/week, on average.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: FacilitiesAssists with repairs and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.Sets up and arranges tables, chairs, and decorations to prepare museum rooms for meetings, internal events and rental events.Assists with painting, lighting and light carpentryImplements museum emergency and security procedures and policiesAssists with the safe transfer of furniture, fixtures, equipment and art objectsSets up and troubleshoots A/V equipment including projector, screen, microphone and lightingIdentifies and reports unusual conditions or situations affecting museum security, visitor/staff safety, and operations of the facilityOversees vendors while onsiteHousekeepingPerforms daily housekeeping duties, including cleaning, vacuuming, sanitizing, dusting and sweeping, in all public and behind-the-scenes spaces of the museum building including restrooms, breakrooms, exhibition and event rental spaces.Collects trash and transports it to dumpstersPerforms other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Excellent communication and customer service skillsDemonstrated ability to work well as part of a teamKnowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices and procedures used in housekeeping and building maintenance, preferredKnowledge of basic concepts, practices and procedures associated with electrical and mechanical systems and equipment, preferredKnowledge of basic cleaning methods and familiarity with materials, chemicals, supplies, and equipment used to clean offices and public buildings in an efficient and economical manner, preferredExperience working in an arts, cultural or entertainment organization, preferred
