VP, Counterparty Credit Officer

Job Description Key ResponsibilitiesCredit Underwriting & Analysis Lead the end-to-end credit underwriting process for new and existing FIG counterparties across lending, trading, treasury, and derivative exposures. Analyze financial statements, capital adequacy, liquidity profiles, funding structures, earnings stability, and business models. Assess qualitative factors including management strength, risk culture, regulatory positioning, competitive landscape, and sector-specific trends. Review and opine on product-specific risks such as repo, securities lending, derivatives, subscription lines, insurance-linked products, and other bilateral or syndicated facilities. Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Management Oversee ongoing portfolio surveillance, including covenant compliance, industry developments, rating migrations, and early-warning indicators. Produce periodic credit reviews, exposure summaries, and risk analytics for internal committees and senior management. Recommend risk mitigation strategies (e.g., collateral, guarantees, structural protections, exposure limits, or documentation adjustments). Monitor regulatory updates impacting FIG sectors (e.g., Basel guidelines, NAIC changes, SEC rules, liquidity and capital frameworks). Governance, Approvals & Stakeholder Engagement Present credit recommendations and defend analyses to internal credit committees. Collaborate with front-office teams, risk partners, legal, compliance, operations, and treasury on transaction structures and risk controls. Support internal audits, regulatory exams, model reviews, and policy updates as needed. Ensure all credit decisions adhere to established policies, risk appetite, and audit standards. The Successful Applicant Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field; advanced degree or certifications (CFA, FRM) a plus. 6+ years of experience in FIG credit risk, credit underwriting, financial institutions analysis, ratings, or related roles. Strong understanding of bank, insurance, broker-dealer, asset manager, and non-bank financial institution financials, regulatory frameworks, and sector-specific risks. Proficiency with financial modeling, ratio analysis, stress testing, and reviewing complex legal documentation. Excellent communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex risks for senior audiences. Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. What's on Offer Competitive salary ranging from $145,000 to $185,000 USD.
