Opportunity: RN - PCU Job Details: • Work in cardiovascular progressive care unit with 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds • Patient ratio of 1:5 patients per RN • Day shift: 1 charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTs, 1.33 HUC • Night shift: 1 charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTs, 0.33 HUC • Care for CV surgery and vascular surgery patients including open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, and overflow medical cardiology patients • Perform epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV management, and cardiac drip management • Use Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various lifts, and Cerner EMR system • Required certifications: ACLS and BLS • Must have stepdown experience and telemetry experience • Preferred experience with CV surgery and vascular surgery populations within the past year • Float to any stepdown units, medical surgical units, or ER inpatient holding area • Minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) per 6-week schedule period • No on-call requirements • Must be flexible to work holidays • Dress code: All navy, white tops with navy bottoms, or all white scrubs • Must be a team player who enjoys fast-paced environment and maintains flexibility Facility: This flagship healthcare facility is licensed for 815 beds and serves as the region's referral center for specialized services.
