CONSTRUCTION PERMIT PROJECT MANAGER

Expediting company is an established, fun and fast growing permitting and licensing expediting company servicing the tri-county area of south Florida. The company is seeking to hire a motivated, goal oriented Experienced Construction Permit expeditor that wants to grow with us. A permit expeditor is responsible for preparing building permits submittal packages, as well as coordinating the efficient submittal, approval and retrieval from local jurisdictions. The goal is to support the timely and cost effective completion of projects. The permit expeditor coordinator communicates the status of each permit, and works closely with the project managers to meet company timelines and goals.ResponsibilitiesReview, prepare, submit and receive permit packages in accordance with jurisdictional requirements.Coordinate payment and reimburse of permit fees according to company guidelinesWork with internal teams, consulting with architects, engineers and jurisdictional employees to understand and resolve any jurisdictional commentsBe an advocate for the company and work with local jurisdictions to streamline permit processesMeet customers to obtain signatures, final paperwork sign off and payment collection, if assignedOrganize all completed paperwork, and process payments in a compliant, secure manner, if assignedUtilize software systems to record progress of various tasksBe well organized and timely with flow of emails, record documents online and transport documentsAssist team with any permitting requests when necessaryCompile data, handle paperwork, file permits, monitor each status of the permit approval process until projects are completedMeet with city officials and project consultants throughout the permitting processTravel to job sites when necessaryRequirementsMust have a valid driver's license with clean record and own reliable transportation (not sharing transportation)Only candidates with 2+ years of experience with construction permitting may applyStrong computer and communications skills are very important.Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Google sheetsAbility to understand basic construction conceptsStrong sense of urgency and problem solving skillsPeople-oriented, enjoys interacting with people and working on group projectsAdaptable/flexible, enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in directionAutonomous, dependable and likes to take ownershipHigh stress tolerance, thrives in a high-pressure environmentAs part of the essential duties, employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
