Head Coach Women's Soccer CoachSt. Edward's University invites applications for the position of Head Coach Women's Soccer. This position provides leadership and professional management of the women's soccer programs in alignment with the mission of the University and the Department of Athletics. The Head Coach is responsible for fostering competitive excellence within the Lone Star Conference and NCAA Division II, while prioritizing student-athlete welfare, academic achievement, community engagement, and holistic development. The role supports institutional integrity, promotes school pride, and prepares student-athletes for success both during and beyond their collegiate careers.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of two years of intercollegiate soccer coaching experience; three or more years of head coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred. Knowledge of NCAA rules, recruiting practices, and compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability to provide strategic vision and leadership for the day-to-day operations of a women's soccer program in alignment with the institution's mission. Proven program-building experience, including competitive success and fundraising to support program budgetary needs. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Essential responsibilities include providing strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the women's soccer program. Recruit, develop and retain student-athletes capable of competitions for conference championships and NCAA postseason opportunities. Plan and conduct practices, competitions and off-season training programs. Ensure full compliance with NCAA, Lone Star Conference and institutional rules. Monitor academic progress and promote the holistic development and well-being of student-athletes. Manage the program budget responsibly and within fiscal guidelines. Supervise and evaluate assistant coach and support staff. Consistently and frequently prioritize professional development for personal growth, as well as, assistant coach. Coordinate scheduling, travel, game day operations and recruiting activities. Engage in fundraising, alumni relations and community outreach initiatives. Represent the University with professionalism, integrity and sportsmanship. Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics and/or the Assistant AD for Internal Operations.
