Develop and implement an alternative curriculum aligned to grade level TEKS - incorporating fundamental academic skills, communication skills, socialization skills, domestic skills, community functioning skills, recreational/leisure skills, and pre-vocational/vocational skills to meet the unique needs of the individual students.Qualifications:Education/Certification:Bachelor's degree from accredited universityValid Texas teaching certificate with required special education and general education endorsements for assignments subject and grade levelSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned areaKnowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process andIndividual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting process and implementationGeneral knowledge of curriculum and instruction for grades assignedKnowledge of implementation of positive behavioral supports and individualized behavior intervention plansExperience:At least one year student teaching or approved internshipAt least one year of experience working with students with low incidence disabilities
