Job Description:Long-Term Substitute School Counselor at Brookfield High SchoolBrookfield High School is seeking a qualified Long-Term Substitute School Counselor to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.Key Responsibilities:Provide individual and group counseling to studentsAssist with course selection, academic planning, and goal settingSupport student adjustment, well-being, and decision-makingCollaborate with staff, families, and community resourcesMonitor student progress and assist with post-secondary planningEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSQualified Candidates must have a current and valid CT Certification (Endorsement - 068, School Counselor)A Masters Degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in School Counseling, including course work in child, adolescent and adult psychology, nature of learning, personality development, sociology, clinical testing, administration/supervision, diagnosis and correction of learning difficulties, applied research, test construction and interpretation, curriculum design and evaluation.Ability to communicate at all levels with students, adults and professionals (teachers, support personnel, psychologists, psychiatrists, physicians).Compensation:* BA Step 1 of the Teachers' ContractApproximate length of assignment:* September 2026 to November 2026Brookfield Public Schools is committed to creating an inclusive and diverse work environment.
