Field Service Engineer
DescriptionJob purposeResponsible for troubleshooting and repairing assigned modalities using appropriate troubleshooting techniques and tools/test equipment.Duties and responsibilitiesProvide basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance and service repair needs on designated equipment.Complete preventative maintenance and functional management inspections.Keep up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records per SimonMed policies.Maintain daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.Promote positive customer relationships, including non-service call visits and meetings.Confers with manufacturer's representatives and equipment operators to resolve equipment related problems.Participate in training programs sponsored by SimonMed and/or other outside training institutions in order acquire the requisite skills necessary to perform the primary job duties and responsibilities.Complete detailed reports of work performed.QualificationsShould possess specialized knowledge in several specialized modalities such as radiology, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT, cath. lab., linear accelerators, etc.OEM trained in Siemens and GE a plusGood communication and strong customer service skillsAbility and willingness to serve "on-call" duty as requiredMust be willing to serve as a technical resource to others in areas of specialty or certification(s)Must be proficient in computer skills and telephone etiquette.Can accommodate occasional evening/weekend work as needed and is able to travel domestically up to 50% of the timeBachelor's degree in an electrical, biomed, electronic or computer science discipline and at least 5-7 years of prior experienceThis position may require duties including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, sitting for prolonged periods of time, with frequent standing and walking. Good visual and auditory acuity as well as good manual dexterity and the ability to be readily understood are essential.
