Environment, Health and Safety Manager
Job Summary & Job DutiesThis role supports day-to-day operations and requires practical experience with hazardous materials management, chemical handling programs, and California environmental requirements. The EHS Manager partners closely with Operations and Facilities to maintain safe, compliant, and efficient workplaces. Environmental & Regulatory Compliance- Lead site environmental compliance programs (air, water, waste, hazardous materials)- Ensure compliance with applicable California agencies (DTSC, CARB, RWQCB, CUPA)- Manage hazardous waste generator requirements - Maintain the Hazardous Materials - Support Proposition 65 compliance- Coordinate air permitting and emissions reporting, as needed- Support stormwater and wastewater programs (SWPPP/BMPs, monitoring)- Maintain readiness for inspections, audits, and corrective actionsChemical Safety & Hazardous Materials- Own the chemical safety program (HazCom, SDS, storage, labeling)- Manage hazardous materials and hazardous waste handling processes- Conduct chemical risk assessments and implement controlsSafety & Incident Management- Maintain OSHA recordkeeping and required reporting- Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions- Conduct EHS audits/inspections and track closure of findingsHands-On EHS Support- Provide hands-on support to floor operations to mitigate hazards in real time- Perform routine safety walkthroughs and follow up on actions- Support implementation and verification of corrective actionsFacilities & Infrastructure Support- Partner with Facilities on building systems, ventilation, and life-safety needs- Support contractor safety and EHS requirements for projects- Review facility/process changes for environmental and safety impactsTraining, Culture & Programs- Deliver required EHS training (environmental, chemical, and general safety)- Support risk assessments (JHAs/JSAs) and standard work improvements- Promote a strong safety culture and environmental stewardship across sitesMinimum QualificationsBachelor of Science degree is preferred. Specialization in Occupational Safety and Health, or Environmental Health, Environmental Sciences; is preferred· Knowledge and understanding of workplace safety and health programs.· Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills required.· Manufacturing environment experience preferred.Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree preferred in EHS or related field- 3+ years of EHS experience with environmental and chemical safety focus- Experience with CA agencies (DTSC, CUPA, RWQCB, Air Districts)- Strong knowledge of hazardous waste and HazCom programs- Hands-on working EHS experience required- Manufacturing experience preferred- Facilities coordination experience preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS- Travel between sites- Exposure to manufacturing environment including chemicals- Ability to walk, stand, and lift up to 35 lbs- Ability to wear required PPEMust embody company core values: Safety, Excellence, and Respect
