This position is responsible full time education and care of 12 two-year olds, including planning of developmentally appropriate curriculum, classroom management, family support and Jewish holiday and Shabbat programming. The Lead Twos Teacher will report to the Early Childhood Center Director. This is a full-time, in-person position in Riverdale.This role works closely with the Assistant Teachers, Operations Manager and Early Childhood Center Director to create a warm, loving and creative first school experience that nurtures families and readies children for our 3K program.WHAT YOU WILL DOPlan age appropriate curriculum across the domains including language, math, science, gross and fine motor development, artistic expression and social and emotional developmentCreate Jewish holiday and Shabbat experiencesAssess development to prepare for Parent/Teacher Conferences bi-annually and IFSP and turning three CPSE meetingsSupport children with special needs and collaborate with Early Intervention professionals such as Special Instructors, Speech and Language Pathologists and Occupational and Physical TherapistsMinimum Qualifications:WHAT YOU WILL BRING (Qualifications)Must-Haves:? Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or study plan eligible pursuing Master's Degree or Bachelor's in a DOH-designated related field? NYS Teaching Certification Birth-Grade 2 (or study plan eligible)? Prior lead-teacher experience in a progressive Twos classroom strongly preferred? Ability to build warm relationships with children and families? Strong communication, collaboration, and reflective teaching skillsNice-to-Haves: Passion for music, movement, arts, gardening, cooking or other interests to share with childrenSALARY & COMPENSATIONRiverdale Y offers employees medical & dental insurance, flexible spending, commuter benefits and pension plan as well as an optional 403(b) retirement benefit.
