Job Description About the Role Analyzes user’s requirements, concept of operationsdocuments, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirementsspecifications. Analyzes system requirements and leads design and developmentactivities. Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternativeapproaches, and conducts feasibility studies. Provides technical leadership forthe integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporates newplans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Develops technicaldocumentation. Develops system Architecture and system design documentation.Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment orpreparation of system engineering management plans and system integration andtest plans. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineeringtechnical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed anddeliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and seniorexecutives. Key Responsibilities DevelopingInfrastructure As Code and scripting to automate tasks, provision managedservices, and build tools. Popular programming languages for DevOpsengineers include Terraform, Ansible, and Python. Install,configure, and provide performance tuning utilizing: Kubernetes and cloudnative logging and metrics collection tools (i.e. Elasticsearch,Grafana/Prometheus). ManagingGitlab CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deploying codeutilizing GitLab runners and Argo CD. Managingcommercial cloud computing platforms (AWS).Communication andcollaboration: DevOps is a team-oriented discipline. Engineers need to beable tocommunicate and collaborate effectively with other teammembers, as well as with stakeholders. Requirements Qualifications Twenty(20) years-experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope,type and complexity is required. Demonstrated experience in planning andleading Systems Engineering efforts is required.Bachelor’s degree inSystem Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, EngineeringScience,Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accreditedcollege or university is required. Five (5)years of additional SEexperience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
