Quality Engineer
Position has the responsibility for the following:Follows all Safety policies and ensures that all safety issues are addressed in a timely mannerMust be trustworthy in all areas of professional and personal performance.Report Day/WTD/MTD/YTD quality performance metrics.Ensures that technical standards and work instructions to ensure product quality and NLMK Production System (NPS) requirements are implemented and followed.Collect and analyze data for product and process quality improvement, communicate necessary changes to process, practices, or measurement.Understand technical processes in operating areas and application of quality standards. Train workforce on Quality Standards.Participates and occasionally leads Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement activity, including identifying problems and proposing solutions. Interfaces with the GM of Quality and other Engineers on translating customer quality requirements to the mill, gathers data and analyzes any trials. Create, execute, analyze and report on designed experimentsInterface with the Operating Group, including Management, Process Engineers and hourly employees to make real-time decisions on mill control, measurement and operating practices for satisfactory production.Evaluate Operating Unit product quality of material produced and disposition as prime, rework or reclass.Observe product quality at outside processing and customer units as necessary to evaluate product quality and disposition productPerform other related work, as required.Qualifications and Education Requirements Minimum requirement is a B.S. degree in metallurgical engineering or related materials science curriculum.
