Medical - Podiatrist

Job Description Job ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities associated with this role encompass, but are not limited to:Utilizing a diverse array of professional theories, assessment techniques, and methods to provide care for patients with podiatric medical and surgical issues.Formulating clear and effective treatment plans.Integrating innovative clinical procedures into practice.Offering expert advice and consultation regarding the management of podiatric conditions.Supervising and managing professional staff, particularly students and residents.Evaluating the qualifications and skills of both current and potential employees.Building strong interpersonal relationships, resolving conflicts, and collaborating with other healthcare providers across various specialties and departments.Diagnosing and treating medical and surgical disorders using the most suitable techniques to ensure high-quality care.Conducting initial evaluations, comprehensive workups, history and physical examinations, and admissions for podiatric patients as required.Performing clinical duties, which include operating room procedures, inpatient rounds, emergency room care, and outpatient clinic responsibilities.Possessing the capability to execute a wide range of podiatric surgical procedures.Supervising students and residents during their rotations in the podiatry service.Engaging in surgical quality and performance improvement initiatives as necessary.Participating in podiatry night call and executing emergency surgical procedures as needed.Educating patients about their conditions and treatment plans, ensuring they understand the risks and benefits associated with surgical interventions.Completing all required electronic clinical documentation and charting promptly, including outcomes reporting as necessary.Consulting with Medical Center staff on various patient care matters.Upholding a policy of full disclosure regarding any complications that arise during patient care, discussing options for second opinions or legal actions, and documenting these conversations in the patient's chart.Maintaining respectful and dignified interactions with patients, colleagues, and their families.Reporting both administratively and clinically to the Chief of Podiatry, and potentially to the Chief of Surgery for assigned programs.Additional responsibilities may be discussed with the hiring manager.Working ConditionsThe work schedule is typically Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, subject to departmental discretion.Compensation and BenefitsSalary: Competitive salary with annual performance bonuses and regular salary increases.Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off annually, which includes 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and potentially 5 days of paid absence for continuing medical education (CME).Retirement: Traditional federal pension with a 5-year vesting period and a federal 401K plan with contributions of up to 5% by the organization.Insurance: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance options, many of which can be carried into retirement.Licensure: Must possess one full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory.CME: Potential reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year (must be full-time with board certification).Malpractice: Liability protection provided at no cost, including tail coverage.To further explore this opportunity, please submit your Curriculum Vitae for consideration.
