UnderwriterSalary: $60,000–$80,000/Year (DOE) + BenefitsLocation: Hybrid – Downtown Kansas CityBright Minds’ client, is seeking an Underwriter to join their growing team in the Kansas City Metro area. This role is ideal for an early-career underwriting professional who is eager to manage their own book of business while building strong relationships with agency partners. The Underwriter will evaluate risk, support policyholders and agents, and collaborate across departments to ensure effective underwriting decisions and excellent service. We’re looking for candidates who are analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and in a fast-paced team environment.Key Responsibilities:Manage and underwrite an assigned book of business across multiple account sizes, classes, and territoriesEvaluate risk and make underwriting decisions within assigned authority levelsBuild and maintain strong relationships with agency partners through regular communication and collaborationAnalyze policyholder information to determine appropriate coverage, pricing, and termsCollaborate with internal teams to resolve issues related to risk management, safety, audits, and policy servicingMaintain strong attention to detail while managing multiple deadlines and prioritiesUtilize strategic thinking and sound judgment when evaluating risks and making underwriting recommendationsQualifications:1–2 years of insurance underwriting experienceStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environmentAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and general business softwareHigh school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferredNice to Have:Workers’ Compensation underwriting experienceTo apply, please submit your resume in Word format to .
