CALENDAR: 1960 NEW HIRE OR 1961 RETURNING (9 MONTH)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: THIS IS A THREE YEAR GRANT FUNDED POSITION
Job Goal
Support and empower elementary and junior high school educators with the knowledge, skills
and resources to inspire students in STEM subjects; fostering a culture of curiosity and critical
thinking, while preparing students for success in a rapidly-evolving world driven by science,
technology, engineering and mathematics.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)OR a Master's degree in education-related field
Teaching certification
Experience in STEM education and design thinking
Strong knowledge of STEM curriculum and pedagogy
Strong instructional capabilities in the classroom
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents
Strong organizational skills
Experience in coaching or mentoring educators
Continuous learning and willingness to stay updated on STEM trend
Core Job Functions
In the area of curriculum development: collaborate with teachers to design and enhance STEM curriculum that aligns with district standards and goals and develop design thinking as a pedagogical approach
In the area of professional development: provide ongoing training and support to teachers on effective STEM teaching strategies, technology integration, and inquiry-based learning
In the area of classroom support: assist teachers in implementing hands-on STEM activities, projects, and experiments in the classroom using design thinking.
In the area of data analysis: analyze student performance data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement in STEM education
In the area of resource management: identify and recommend STEM resources, materials, and tools for teachers to enhance their instructional practices
In the area of community engagement: build partnerships with local STEM organizations, professionals, and universities to provide students with real-world STEM experiences
In the area of assessment and evaluation: develop and implement assessments to measure student learning outcomes in STEM subjects
In the area of research and innovation: stay current on best practices in STEM education, research new trends, and implement innovative strategies to enhance student engagement and achievement
In the area of collaboration: work closely with district administrators, other STEM coaches, and educators to create a cohesive STEM education program across elementary schools
In the area of parent involvement: engage parents in STEM initiatives, provide resources for at-home STEM activities, and communicate the importance of STEM education
