After School Care Assistant

Year-round school schedule.The assistant will perform a variety of tasks including recreation activities, arts and crafts, sports, games, etc.Duties and Responsibilities:Must maintain positive communication with studentsCare for and work with large groups of young childrenPlan and execute creative and educational activitiesBe willing to join in with physical activityUtilize a positive reinforcement behavioral systemActively supervise and interact with children.Be a responsible and reliable member of the team.Interact with children in a positive manner.Continuously gauge the safety of students.Set an example for behavior.Execute Creative and Educational Activities that promote learning, socialization and creativityPrepare for the day by preparing snacks, setting up activities, etc.Clean up after all children have left.Set up rooms, manage attendance, prepare snacks, help keep things tidy.Skills and Abilities: Work cohesively in a team settingEnthusiastic and positive attitudeExcellent communication skillsFirst Aid/CPR certified, preferredEducation and Experience: Minimum High School Diploma1 year of childcare experience, preferredPhysical Requirements: Ability to join in with physical activityAble to maintain attention and a high level of energy or excitement for extended periods of time.The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
