Overview
IBC operates a copper alloy foundry, a full service forging operation including heat treating capabilities, and a machining operation in Franklin, Indiana. Equipment consists of saws, furnaces, ovens, hammers, 1500-ton forge press, ring roller, lathes and mill, most with electrical, hydraulic and/or pneumatic operating systems.
Job Summary
The maintenance technician is responsible for performing inspections, periodic preventative maintenance, trouble shooting and repairs on equipment and facilities. This position may be required to fabricate basic parts or equipment with standard shop equipment like welders, drill presses, saws and basic hand tools. The maintenance technician will utilize forklifts and lifting devices like chain falls and overhead cranes to assist them when needed and will also use scissor lifts and man lifts when needed.
The Candidate should have experience repairing and troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical equipment and experience working in a manufacturing environment or the equivalent. The position is full time, Monday through Friday on first shift, with the possibility of overtime when required to satisfy critical production situations.
Essential Duties
Repair machinery, equipment, and building facilities with available tools and equipment
Utilize hand tools, basic shop tools, and available equipment to perform repairs, preventative maintenance, or to fabricate equipment that is needed
Read and interpret manuals, drawings, prints, and schematics
Complete and maintain maintenance records as needed
Work safely following all safety and environmental regulations
Maintain clean and orderly work area
Maintain a positive work atmosphere in a manner that promotes good relationships with co-workers and management
Knowledge of electrical controls and/or facilities are preferred
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge of standard hand tools, shop tools and manufacturing equipment
Basic knowledge of how to use a multimeter
Industrial maintenance skills are preferred
Valid Indiana driver’s license
High school diploma or equivalent
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lift 70 pounds
Ability to perform physical requirements of the job such as prolonged physical exertion, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in awkward positions and tight areas and working from heights
Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
Ability to pass background check
