You will also perform administrative tasks, environmental tasks, and organizational tasks to ensure the clinic is operating effectively. What You'll Do: Adhere to the scope of practice of a MARoom patients, take vital signs, and document patient visits in electronic health record systemEnsure exam rooms are appropriately stocked, cleaned, and maintained for patient visitsComply with HIPAA, confidentiality, and state lawsAnswer patient calls and follow up with patientsAssist with patient scheduling as neededEffectively communicate with patients, providers, and staffMaintain a professional presenceReport concerns to appropriate staff membersOther duties as assigned by supervisor Why You'll Excel in This Role: You are able to understand medical charts, diagnosis, and coding for billing purposesYou demonstrate the ability to maintain a calm demeanor when under pressureYou have skill in operating a computer using a variety of software applications and an electronic health records systemYou are able to prioritize multiple tasks and work with a variety of patient care teams Required qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent Preferred qualifications: One year of clinical experience working as a medical assistant OR completion of externship in a medical officeCertified medical assistant through the AAMA OR registered medical assistant through the AMT ORLicensed practical nurse certification PLUS two years of clinical experience Learn more about Orthopedic Physicians Alaska at Learn more about Primary Care Associates at FLSA status: Non-exempt Candidates meeting the above skills and qualifications and desiring to be part of a patient-centered, professional environment are invited to apply.
