Manufacturing/ Repair Technician
This position is responsible for using standard production practices to perform tasks essential to the production of life science instruments. This individual will provide tactical floor support to our in-house manufacturing lines by assembling and electro-mechanical subassemblies using hand tools and/or specialized fixtures or jigs and conduct manufacturing tests. He or she will receive general instructions on routine work activities and detailed instructions on new assignments. Duties include:Build and test subassemblies and/or instrument systems by following procedures, other written instructions or verbal instructionsTroubleshoot pneumatic, fluidic, electrical, and/or mechanical subassemblies or systemsIdentify, resolve, record and report failures/defects during manufacturingAssist engineers in developing and implementing BOMs and assembly/test proceduresDisposition defective products, perform rework and quality testingCreate and maintain neat, legible, complete notebook records and data sheets for manufacturing testsDevelop and maintain organized, efficient and safe lab and production areasComplete and submit field service reportsReport production status daily SkillsMust have strong attention to detail and able to work well under pressure in order to meet production deadlinesMust be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environmentMust be able to work independently and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner with minimal routine supervisionMust have good manual dexterity and be able to assemble small componentsMust be able to use basic soldering tools and hand toolsMust have demonstrated ability to read, understand and follow assembly drawings, diagrams, and proceduresMust be able to understand block diagrams, pneumatic/fluidic/electrical schematicsMust be well organized, dependable and self-motivated QualificationsMust have minimum 2 years experience in ISO9001 manufacturing environmentAA or AS degree in a technical field desiredMust have strong interpersonal skillsMust be committed to working in a 5S environmentMust be able to follow Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices
