Work Environment: This position is based in our Midtown Manhattan office. Regular in-office attendance is required; this is not a remote position.

Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 annually
Reports To: Controller
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations with a strong focus on reconciliations, inventory accounting, and core accounting functions.
The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in wholesale, fashion, apparel, or consumer products is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting Functions
Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and supporting documentation
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Perform account reconciliations including bank, credit card, accrual, and balance sheet reconciliations
Review financial data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
Maintain organized accounting records and documentation
Inventory & Operational Accounting
Reconcile inventory balances and assist with inventory tracking and reporting
Support inventory adjustments, transfers, and cost analysis
Assist in monitoring inventory accuracy across systems and warehouse reporting
Work closely with Operations, Production, and Warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies and improve reporting accuracy
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Assist with preparation of financial reports and schedules
Support audit requests and provide documentation as needed
Help identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls
Participate in special accounting projects and operational initiatives
Qualifications
5–7 years of accounting experience
Strong understanding of core accounting principles and reconciliations
Experience with inventory accounting required
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel required
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Preferred Experience
Experience in fashion, apparel, wholesale, or consumer products industry
Experience working in a small to mid-sized business environment
Familiarity with inventory systems and operational accounting processes
